- BIOGRAPHYDiana Rabanal-Barsaga is an attorney at law. Prior to joining Federis & Associates Law Office, she worked in another IP law firm managing trademark prosecution and preparation, where she regularly prepared trademark registrations, and handled inter partes cases before the Intellectual Property Office. She also practiced trademark infringement and unfair competition cases before the regular courts.
- RESPONSIBILITIESAt Federis, Ms. Rabanal-Barsaga continues to handle the same types of trademark work. In addition, she reviews trademark applications prior to filing in order to determine and avoid future problems and rejections. She gauges the chance of success in trademark disputes and conducts the best possible course of action for the registration or maintenance of their trademark rights. In addition, she renders legal opinions concerning various trademark issues.
Ms. Rabanal-Barsaga also prepares complaints, motions and affidavit-testimonies. She assists in preparing documents relating to the settlement of the civil aspect of trademark infringement and unfair competition cases.
When she is not working with trademark paperwork, Ms. Rabanal-Barsaga manages the Madrid desk at Federis. She advises clients about the maintenance of international registration, use requirements and deadlines. She also liaises with foreign associates for the prosecution of international applications under the Madrid Protocol and records licensing with the Documentation, Information and Technology Transfer Bureau (DITTB).
- EDUCATIONMs. Rabanal-Barsaga obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the University of the Philippines and her Bachelor of Laws degrees from San Beda College, Manila. She majored in Area Studies as an undergraduate.
